He wasn't wrong,  You won't get anywhere unless you start.   And if in doubt about where to start I find it helpful to consider the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible". (must point out, I seem to remember, Mary Poppins was also a proponent of this path to the impossible.  

So steady on I say.  Travel lightly, lay all old baggage down, you'll find everything you need along the way.  Set the sites for the horizon, second star to the right and straight on till morning...
